A coming together of two of the mod scene's big players, Martin Freeman and Eddie Piller celebrated the release of their recently released and very well received compilation 'Martin Freeman and Eddie Piller Present Jazz On The Corner' by filling in for Craig Charles on BBC Radio 6 Music. The show's playlist featured some of the greats that appear on the compilation including the albums' opener 'If You're Going To The City by Mose Allison. Better still, Acid Jazz has put together a playlist of the songs played during the show that you can listen to below.
The compilation came about as a result of a previous radio appearance that the duo made together when Eddie Piller invited Martin Freeman to join him on his Jazz Radio show two years earlier. The album comprehensively yet concisely overviews the colossal genre over its four sides, from the already mentioned Mose Allison through more recent incarnations such as Brand New Heavies' 'Sphinx' and ends with the very contemporary Kamasi Washington.
