Fat Freddy's Drop are to return to the UK with their biggest ever headline show at London's Alexandra Palace on October 18th 2014.
The New Zealand band enjoyed great success in 2013 with the release of their third LP 'Blackbird'. Described as a reflection of the band's musical philosophy to date, 'Blackbird' brought together the band's various influences, from disco to soul, house to electronic funk, demonstrated by the track 'Mother Mother' and its epic video directed by Mark Williams, featuring Pacific contemporary dance by Black Grace.
The band marked the release of 'Blackbird' at a sold out Village Underground gig in June 2013. This was followed by a sold-out tour of dates across the UK in October, finishing up at Brixton Academy.
"After being together for 14 years, it feels like we're just getting going,” says DJ Fitchie. “The band is loving the bigger stages and the opportunity to explore more impressive production."
