03Interview

Name, where are you from?
Shambolics, from Fife Scotland.

Describe your style in three words?
Hippy Scottish Chavs.

What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
We went to The Rolling Stones at Murrayfield last week (9th June 2018). Nothing will ever top that, the best gig we've ever been to and proper surreal moment watching The Stones live!

If you could be on the line up with any two bands in history?
The Beatles - because they are the greatest band in the history of music and it would be monumental seeing them live even if you couldn't hear them because of the screaming girls!
Oasis - because they are one of the first big bands that we all started listening to and the crowd at their gigs would be absolutely mental.

Which subcultures have influenced you?
I think were influenced by a bit of everything. We like the punk scene, the hippy movement, mod culture. We're not really tied down to one subculture.

If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
I think spending an hour with Muhammad Ali or Conor Mcgregor would be class. They have a unique mind/mentality that only a few people in history seem to have. They are our biggest inspirations outside music

Of all the venues you’ve played, which is your favourite?
Playing the 02 Academy in Glasgow was class! The first time we had played a venue that size! Hopefully of many more to come.

Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
There are many guilty pleasures that we have when it comes to music Atomic Kitten - Whole Again being one. Disgusting I know but what a tune!

04Playlist Notes

The first track you played on repeat?
'Live Forever' by Oasis.

A song that defines the teenage you?
'Friday Nite' by DJ Badboy.

One record you would keep forever?
'Rumours' by Fleetwood Mac.

A song lyric that has inspired you?
"So often times it happens,
that we live our life in chains,
and we never really know who has the key"

'Already Gone' by Eagles.

A song you wished you had written?
'Imagine' by John Lennon.

Best song to turn up loud?
'Helter Skelter' by The Beatles.

A song people wouldn’t expect you to like?
'Because I Got High' by Afroman.

Best song to end an all-nighter on?
'The Next Episode' by Dr Dre & Snoop Dogg.

Any new bands you are listening to right now?
'Swine' by The Blinders - Love these lads, had some memorable nights with them, their debut album is soon to be released very soon and its gonna be massive.

'Fade Away' by Vida - The boys! Our brothers from Alloa, we've done many gigs with these lads and had some funny memories and I'm sure there'll be many more to come.

'Kampfire Vampire' by Gerry Cinnamon - Respect to what he's done so far in music, played at his open mic night a few years back there was like 3 people there, to see him sell out 2 dates at the barras and a full UK tour a few years later is monumental.
