amandamairmainSwedish recording artist Amanda Mair will release her debut self-titled album in the US June 5th on Labrador. Produced by Philip Ekström of The Mary Onettes, the album features the new single “Sense,” out Spring 2012.

The UK release follows a slew of critical praise at home and abroad. Mair was recently voted "2012’s Big Breakthrough" by the Swedish Music Industry and Aftonbladet, Sweden's largest daily paper, called the album “One of the best Swedish debuts ever.” Previous singles include “Doubt,” voted one of 2011's best singles by influential UK site PopJustice (who also made it their Single Of The Day everyday for a week) and “House” which The Washington Post calls “gorgeous.”

The 17-year-old wunderkind – who began playing music at age four (she plays piano, bass, guitar, and drums – but piano is her instrument of choice) – was discovered by pure coincidence when her music made its way to a Labrador exec before she even had a MySpace page or played in front of an audience. Now with only a handful of live performances under her belt and still too young to play live without her parents (“I’m looking forward to turning 18 so I can play live shows without my mother and father.”) Mair has performed live on Sweden’s biggest television programs and is set to embark on her first proper tour later this year.
