Charlotte Carpenter

Monday 22nd July 2013

Already having appeared at big name festivals such as Beach Break Live and Dot to Dot Festival last year, Charlotte Carpenter is a talented acoustic artist from Kettering in Northamptonshire. Since creating her debut EP ‘A New Home’ on her bedroom floor at the age of 17, Charlotte has grown hugely as an artist and is really making a name for herself this year.

Charlotte is a resident acoustic artist at various bars and nights, playing monthly to an ever-growing crowd. Some of Charlotte’s inspirations derive from artists such as Laura Marling and Feist. Combining the soft tones of her voice with her smart, interesting lyrics and upbeat acoustic guitar riffs, Charlotte is sure to gain even more popularity than she already has done in years to come.

Listen above to an acoustic version of the song ‘Found a Light’ which will be on the new EP ‘Whole,’ due to be released Autumn time this year. The lyrics of the track weave traditionally around the melancholic, gentle acoustic melody, rising as the song progresses into a somewhat more upbeat tune, giving the track a more optimistic, hopeful vibe. It is clear to say that Charlotte cleverly tells a story through her lyrics, to be interpreted differently dependent on the individual.
