Cremeu les perles (Burn your pearls) is the recently released debut album by Les sueques on El Genio Equivocado, a post-punk indie-rock music band from Barcelona formed by Blanca, lead-singer and bassist; Tuixén, guitarist; Raquel, keyboardist; and Pau, drummer and only male member in the band (also member of TokioSexDestruction).
In October 2011, they put together a four-track demotape, which brought the critics/media attention because of their characteristic rythmic half tempo anthemic songs, powerfully dark, nostalgic and with a touch of raw folk. The tracks are crafted in such dadaistic, pure genuine style that the band has also managed to earn a number of fans' trust, who love their hypnotic punk music full of humour and irony.
The band's taste for surprise, combined with their arty approach to music, make of Les sueques' performances a unique experience where anything can happen on stage. The girls (and boy!) may appear as bearded women, superheroines, wear “Guess Who?” masks, you'll never know what to expect from them but both their music and mise-en-scene won't, indeed, leave anyone indifferent.
