Ryo Fukawa / ROCKETMAN.

What do you do?

Where are you from?
Tokyo, Japan

What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
It was João Gilberto’s first Japan gig at Tokyo International Forum in 2003. The gig started 40~50 minutes late as expected, but I literally felt like I had seen the god.

Which sub-cultures have influenced you?
'SHUKAN SHONEN JUMP (Japanese weekly comic magazine)'. JUMP has a reader’s column called 'JUMP HOSOKYOKU' and its contexts are mainly nonsense but I enjoy it a lot.

Of all the venues you’ve played, which is your favourite?
A hotel in Tokyo for my friend’s wedding party. Guests consisted of men and women of various ages, and I DJ'd on my own throughout the event. I have DJ'd three wedding parties so far, and I would like to try at a funeral one day.

If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
I would like to listen to recent music with Beethoven. I’m really interested in how a great composer like him feels when he listens to music nowadays, like EDM.
