Name, where are you from?
Ryoma Inoue from Osaka, Japan.
what do you do?
I'm a musician in the band SHE'S.
What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
It was 2017 when I moved to Tokyo and watched Coldplay at Tokyo Dome. I got the impression that the dome really brought out their stadium-scale sound which must also be great outdoors. I think the large space probably made their sound come alive.
Which subcultures have influenced you?
Fashion in general. I didn’t get into American casual style at all but from my father. I like the gentleman feel so I’ve been wearing Paul Smith for a very long time. I remember visiting the Westbourne House in Notting Hill during my UK trip 2 years ago.
Of all the venues you’ve played, which is your favourite?
I’d say it’s the COUNTDOWN JAPAN 2018 at the event hall of Makuhari Messe. It’s similar to the Budo-kan in terms of the size with a clear view. I recall myself getting well excited.
If you could be on the line up with any bands in history?
Being a fan of Oasis, though actually I can imagine the two brothers dissing us after the show so…It’s going to be Coldplay for their kind-hearted mind. A piano duet with Chris Martin would make my day. ‘Parachutes’ or ‘A Rush of Blood to the Head’…those that were released in the early ’00s would be nice.
If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
Drinking session with Ed Sheeran. Preferably some Irish bars in Dublin with a woody atmosphere.
Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
No Rome. He’s a singer-songwriter from Manila, Philippines and now based in England. ‘Narcissist’, a collaborative track with Matthew Healy from The 1975 went viral.
