The Jacques

Monday 26th January 2015

The Jacques are the teenage lovechild of cockney guitar-pop, and just about anything that came out of New York during the early '00s.

They are due to release 'Weekends / Baby, Turn The Light Off' on Monday 23rd February, taken from the acclaimed debut Pretty DJ EP, which was recorded at Rockfield Studios with producer Dan Swift. 'Weekends' is already a live favourite and a guaranteed indie disco floor filler!

The Bristol-originating two sets of brothers were brought up on a diet of The Strokes, The Ramones, The Jam, The Lemonheads and Elvis Costello, the group charge their Britpop bayonets against the modern view that rock and roll with sophisticated lyrics is dying. They have already been played across Radio 1, 6 Music and XFM. The Pretty DJ video, directed by Will Hutchinson, was featured on Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch at the start of 2015, as part of their Playlist tips for 2015.

Live, The Jacques have developed an incendiary set of songs and are making new fans wherever they play. Since their debut at Hyde Park in London in June 2014 where they played on the same bill as The Libertines (and where Gary Powell – Libs drummer- signed them on the spot to his 25 Hour Convenience Store label), they are now set to appear at festivals and venues around the UK in 2015.
