Recently discovered during our travels with Dot to Dot, Oldboy, from Nottingham, possess a curiously likable mixture of late nineties, Britpop era qualities, combined with some bluesy solos and progish changes of tempo, that make you wonder what it would be like, to see Oasis jamming with Rush, as part of some Mid-Atlantic, late twentieth century tribute concert.
If you don't know who Oasis are, ask your dad. If you don't know who Rush are, ask your Dad's older brother. An embryonic, Anglo Queens Of The Stone Age, is probably a more digestible comparison/description anyway. To see what we mean about Oldboy's sound hear "Hole" below:
