Northern soul retro.
At home circa 1982.
I was a young mod, was a great tune to dance too, also loved the style and clothes of this group, epitomises cool.
York and was a break from the norm of my usual taste in sixties and ska, more garage style but brilliant band and gig.
Haunting melodies and great mid tempo dance song on the northern soul scene.
Not really new but find this artist interesting and very new folk with a kind of sixties charm and feel to the music.
Love this song and the style it represents, very British, although Jamaican adopted by young british youths mainly working class, who copied the the style of there Jamaican counterparts
Danced on stage with my friend, at an all nighter, Fred Perry polo and v neck jumper, two tone trousers, loafers and pork pie hat, this song embedded the working class within the music and message.
Passed down to the new mods in the eighties from our brothers and sisters in the sixties an iconic tune.
Great song and when we are all clapping in unison, not wanting the night to end the feeling is powerful.
