Name, where are you from?
My name is Kamohelo Khoaripe. Born and raised in South Africa; and now Iʼm currently based in Sweden, Stockholm.
What do you do?
Iʼm 1/4 of a music group called Off The Meds and Iʼm the frontman/vocalist of the group. Iʼm also in a DJ collective called Clap Clap Club - a bunch of friends just playing tunes/curating events all over Sweden from raves to weddings.
Describe your style in three words?
Sloppy, confidence, careless.
Whatʼs the best gig youʼve ever been to?
Hmm, best gig, I think it was a club in Stockholm called Kvarteret and DJ Seinfeld came on. He played the 'Hackney Parrot' By Tessela and I lost my legs that night. Wow.
If you could put any three bands in history on a lineup?
The Clash, 340ml and Cha Cha Cha Guitri. Yeah, Iʼll choose these because Iʼd really love to see them play live, The Clash opening up, 340ml cosying things up and Cha Cha Cha Guitri finishing it up.
Which subcultures have influenced you?
The underground rave scene, thereʼs so much love and support down there and a lot of crazy shit. Football fans. My style of writing songs is influenced by the chanting fans make to support and uplift footballers.
If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
Dash Snow, I was really into his art/style of creativity. I remember my friends and me in South Africa discover in 2006/7 we got really inspired.
Where is your favourite independent venue?
Since Iʼm based in Sweden, I have to say the Swedish woods. In summer most of the underground kids go out in the woods, find a nice spot, set up a system and boom you have a rave with the best view ever.
Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
Spoek Mathambo, his been pushing South African music/culture to the world for a very long time and he still is. He deserves credit.
