Name, where are you from?
Hi! My name is Philipp, I’m 26 and I’m originally from Moscow.
What do you do?
My whole life I’m going for poetry, creating and presenting it wherever I am.
Since 2018 I’ve hosting and controlling faces in a popular wine bar - Big Wine Freaks Moscow. Also, I’ve been working as a TV-host on MTV Russia since the end of 2019.
Describe your style in three words?
My style can be described as sports-chic, homeless bohemian or even skateboardy.
Whatever, the basement of all of it - is a love of Linkin Park from a very young age.
What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
I will never forget my first gig, I was 15, it was a club called Mosproect.
With some light lies, I left my parents house and with a few bros went to a Rynochni Otnosheniya show. There was everything – moshing, drugs, police, crowds. And in the middle of it – us – sitting unexpectedly in a VIP zone. Wow.
If you could put any three bands in history on a lineup?
Oasis. Zemfira. Linkin Park.
Which subcultures have influenced you?
Football and near football communities, skaters, emos, hipsters and definitely my parent's music choices (that could not be classified as some existing subcultures) influenced me.
If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
If I could spend an hour with anyone – it will be Jeffrey Lebowski.
Where is your favourite independent venue?
My favourite independent venue is in Moscow, called IGGY pub on Kalashniy lane 9.
It’s a tiny local spot. Nothing is unusual there except three bartenders and constant guests.
Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
My greatest unsung hero is a sailor, who drinks and then drinks one again in the song 'Amsterdam' by John Denver.
The first track you played on repeat?
I don’t remember the track, but obviously it was something by Ramstein, Eminem or Korol I Shut – my first music tapes.
A song that defines the teenage you?
'West Coast' by Coconut Records defines a teenage me, no doubt.
One record you would keep forever?
I will keep 'Wonderwall' by Oasis forever. It can go like a birth track of anybody, I feel it like this.
A song lyric that has inspired you?
Just look at all of the tracks I mentioned in this interview and multiply their quantity by 37, lol.
A song you wished you had written?
I’m writing many things that could be songs or already are. Each songwriter is ought to be respected.
Best song to turn up loud?
The best songs to play loud are by RHCP (Red Hot Chili Peppers). The best song to actually break the sound system – some of early Hucci’s beats.
A song to get you straight on the dance floor?
There is no such a song, which gets me straight on a dance floor, it’s always mood-depended. Mirele, Zivert, Sharlot.
