Name, where are you from?
I’m Phoebe Green, I’m from Manchester.
Describe your style in three words?
Colourful, retro, androgynous.
What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
I saw Gerard Way (frontman of My Chemical Romance) when I was about 16/17 with my best mate at The Ritz in Manchester, it was one of the best gigs I’ve been to hands down. He’s such an incredible performer and connected so beautifully with the audience, he’s just such a good combination of theatrical and vulnerable. Me and my mate were so young and infatuated and as two artists ourselves were completely in awe of him, we’d been fans for so long, it was a special night.
If you could be on the line up with any two bands in history?
ABBA for obvious reasons, their outfits, their bangers, everything about them as a pop group is legendary, I f*cking love them and always have, it’d be a proper night out. If we’re being entirely hypothetical, then Radiohead, they’re one of my all-time favourite bands and I feel like I’d spend the entire set trying not to let on to anyone that I’m crying.
Which subcultures have influenced you?
I think I’m influenced by anything and everything, in terms of subcultures in fashion I definitely take elements from gothic styles, the theatricality of glam rock and the more kitsch flower power-esque colours and prints.
If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
I’d love to have a natter with Marilyn Monroe, she seemed nice.
Of all the venues you’ve played, which is your favourite?
The Deaf Institute is my fave, I love any venue with a disco ball, but this one’s special because it’s got such a cool interior and the sound there is always mint. I’ve seen so many good bands there too, it’s just a cracking venue.
Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
Marika Hackman definitely deserves a lot more recognition, she’s absolutely incredible, her lyrics are so cutting and the instrumentation always complements the words beautifully, everything seems so intricately done.

From 'ICU' by Phoebe Bridgers. I think it’s funny how blunt it is, but it also reminds me that there’s no point wasting time and energy trying to converse with people in attempts to understand their point of view when they’re clearly wanting to be provocative and have no desire to alter their perspective.
The song that would get you straight on the dance floor?
'911 / Mr Lonely' by Tyler, The Creator (ft. Frank Ocean).
A song you wished you had written?
'The Lick' by Shame.
Best song to turn up loud?
'The Shoop Shoop Song' by Cher.
