03Interview

Name, where are you from?
The Slaughter House Band, Fishersgate.

Describe your style in three words?
Tight, Fast and Bulbous.

What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
The Brian Jonestown Massacre - Concorde2. The night everyone went to the poles and changed our relationship with Europe forever. Cast our votes and then headed down to see one of the greatest bands of all time. One of those two things turned out well.

If you could be on the line up with any two bands in history?
Bob Dylan with The Band and The Velvet Underground. Why? To watch Lou Reed lick Dylan's face.

Which Subcultures have influenced you?
Psychobilly and Krautrock. THE CRAMPS, NEU and CAN. What would our world look like without them?

If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
Screamin’ Jay Hawkins, cause you might be one of his children.

Of all the venues you’ve been to, which is your favourite?
The Albion, Fishersgate. A perfect Guinness, excellent local hospitality and Elvis doing karaoke every Friday night.

Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
Stephen Beese AKA “The Three Beeze Pizza”, “Killa Beeze” or “The Beezeburger” etc.
His excellent manners, fluidity of thought and natural grace.

"Short people are just the same as you and I, and all men are brothers until they die"

From 'Short People' by Randy Newman.

A song you wished you had written?
'Don't You Worry ‘Bout A Thing' by Stevie Wonder. It’s sexy time.

Best song to turn up loud?
'I Wanna Be Your Dog' by The Stooges. Woof Woof.

A song people wouldn’t expect you to like?
'Untitled' by D'Angelo. It’s sexy time again, baby.

The song to get you straight on the dance floor?
'Pop Musik' by M. Play it and watch.

Best song to end an all-nighter?
'There’s a Ghost in My House' by The Fall. Easy way to get everybody to leave.
