Name?
Ewan

Where are you from?
Chippenham (a s*** town half an hour away from Bristol).

What do you do?
I sing and play keyboard.

Describe your style in three words?
Supa Dupa Fly.

You can make a record with anyone from history?
It would have been insane to work with Danger Mouse around 2005/2006 when he was doing Demon Days and St. Elsewhere. Both of those albums are in my top 10 and he did one after the other!

What do you miss about home when you're on tour?
Not having to share the same bed as my brother.

What’s the best show you’ve ever been too?
De La Soul. They made the whole place feel like a massive party and everybody was there to have a good time and dance, rather than just stand and watch. After me and Callum saw that show we've basically been trying to recreate it at all of our shows.

What British music icons inspire your sound today?
One of our biggest inspirations is Gorillaz. In my opinion, they're pretty much untouchable. Damon is obviously an insanely good songwriter, but he also has an amazing gift for picking the right people for a project. I really admire how each album has been an evolution both visually and sonically and I'm buzzing for the new album.

You can spend an hour with anyone from history?
Luke Skywalker, where's he been?

5-piece from near Bath whose sound incorporates 90s baggy beats with brass and old school hip-hop vibes. They featured on our British New Wave 2017 and have 2 Hottest Records under their belt from Annie Mac.

They released their debut EP 'PHRESSH' in May 2017.

04Playlist Notes

What was the first song you played on repeat?
'Get Ur Freak On' by Missy Elliott.

One record you would keep forever?
'Be Thankful For What You've Got' by Massive Attack.

Song you wish you had written?
'If You Want Me To Stay' by Sly & The Family Stone.

Song that defines the teenage you?
'So Fresh, So Clean' by Outkast.

A song lyric that inspires you?
"Got more soul than a sock with a hole."

'Rhinestone Cowboy' by Madvillain.

4 songs by new bands you can’t stop listening to right now?

'Fool To Love' by Nao
I think Nao is awesome, she could just rely on her amazing voice if she wanted to and she'd still be successful, but what she does musically is so on point and creative too

'Money' by Leikeli47
This track is so fresh! I love how minimal the production is, it feels really bold and her flow is ridiculously good.

'Glowed Up' by Kaytranada feat. Anderson .Paak
I really think 99.9% is gonna be one of those albums that stands the test of time, it's so experimental but so well done at the same time. Andersons voice totally does it for me

'Isle of Arran' by Loyle Carner
It would of been so easy to slap a boom bap beat on this sample but I love that they didn't and just let his amazing flow carry the track rhythmically.
