Name, where are you from?
My name is Chanel Loren and I'm from SE London, but I currently reside in Sydney, Australia.
Describe your style in three words?
Comfortably cool and chic.
What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
Masego was the coolest gig I've witnessed. I had so much fun and loved his stage presence. Gigs at small venues always make the experience feel intimate.
If you could be on the line up with any two artists in history?
N.E.R.D and Erykah Badu.
Which subcultures have influenced you?
R&B, blues, jazz, hip-hop, pop, funk, dubstep, garage, reggae, indie, the list goes on... I feel lucky to have grown up and live in an era with access to so many different genres. I have discovered an array of subcultures through my own culture, education and curiosity.
If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
Issa Rae! Her story of pursuing her career really inspires me! I love her brain, her wittiness and her drive.
Of all the venues you’ve been to or played, which is your favourite?
I haven't played at a venue yet as 'Chanel Loren'! I'll update when I do haha.
Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
My mum!
