Name, where are you from?
Liam - Macclesfield
Mike - Bury
Jake - Snitterfield
Ricky - Bangor NI
But we're currently based in Liverpool.
Describe your style in three words?
Thrifted, colourful, loungewear.
What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
Four Tet at Boomtown last year. The stage was a huge alien spaceship and he controlled the crowd better than some frontmen in bands, never experienced anything like it. And it was probably the first time we’ve all been equally hyped about someone we were going to see.
If you could be on the line up with any two artists in history?
Pink Floyd and Daft Punk. Pink Floyd because they put on some of the best live shows in history and I’d just like to melt watching their set after we’d just done ours. Daft Punk would take the party to another level and we’ve always dreamed of seeing them live. We want our live show to be a mix of both of their vibes so the night would hopefully be at least coherent.
If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
Jake - Donald Trump, just to find out what is actually going on inside his head.
Ricky - James Murphy because I really like LCD Soundsystem.
Liam - John Lennon probably cause I'd have a lot to say.
Michael - Da Vinci because he's a bit of an all-rounder.
Of all the venues you’ve been to or played, which is your favourite?
Invisible Wind Factory because it’s a really good local independent venue in Liverpool with a great variety of events year-round, and we always have a good night there.
Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
The Mantis Opera - we find it equally mind-blowing and scary that such a refined band can be slept on so bad.
The first track you played on repeat?
'Ultralight Beam' by Kanye West. Listened to this loads while we were making our first album, pondering his madness/genius. Either way, this is a really good song.
A song that defines the teenage you?
Jake - 'Bangarang' by Skrillex.
Liam - 'Take Her Back' by The Pigeon Detectives.
Ricky - 'Undercover Martyn' by Two Door Cinema Club.
Michael - 'Let My Baby Stay' by Mac Demarco.
One record you would keep forever?
'3:47EST' by Klaatu. This is what we sampled for Dr Marvelo when we first met each other...
A song lyric that has inspired you?
“Put the lime in the coconut and drink them both up.”
From 'Coconut' by Harry Nilsson.
"All things must pass."
From 'All Things Must Pass' by George Harrison.
"if you wanna be cool, follow one simple rule,
Don't mess with the flow oh no,
Stick to the status quo"
From 'Stick To The Status Quo' by High School Musical.
The song that would get you straight on the dance floor?
'Baiana' by Barbatuques. This song slaps so much, literally.
A song you wished you had written?
'Simon Says' by Pharoahe Monch.
Best song to turn up loud?
'Bango' by The Chemical Brothers.
A song people wouldn’t expect you to like?
'Englishman In New York' by Sting & The Police.
Best song to end an all-nighter on?
'Doobie Ashtray' by Devin The Dude.
Any new music you are listening to right now?
'95' by Beam.
'Bling Bling Boys' by Bling Bling Boys.
