Describe your style in three words?

Retrospective Modernism.

The first track you played on repeat?

Arctic Monkeys - Red Light Indicates Doors Are Secured

When I was young my dad used to play this album in the car for me and my brother everywhere we went. This song was one that I used to ask him to play again and again. It was only until I listened to it when I was older that I realised what Alex Turner was talking about.

A song from your favorite album?

The Style Council - My Ever Changing Moods

This was such a hard choice. It was always going to be Paul Weller, but which one was a different question. I think this song just speaks a lot more to me and where I am currently in my life. As a young man in his 20s, I feel I can relate a lot to what Paul Weller writes about.

A song from your most memorable gig?

Kylie Minogue - Locomotion

A few years ago when we could go to gigs, me and a close mate of mine went to a rave together at Soup Kitchen in Manchester. This song got played halfway through the night and it went off. The memory still gets brought in every conversation we have.

A song that always gets you up and dancing?

The Specials - Gangsters - 2015 Remaster

It's just such a feel-good song. I have it on vinyl and I play it now and then at parties. It usually gets the whole floor moving, a song to really lose yourself to.

A new song you're listening to?

Durand Jones & The Indications - Cruisin' to the Parque feat. Y La Bamba

Every time I play this song I shut my eyes and imagine me and my girlfriend in an old vintage Merc cruising down the street, top-down, sun shining and this song blaring from the speakers. A dream that I hope will come true one day.

Best song to turn up loud?

Talking Heads - This Must Be the Place (Naive Melody) - 2005 Remaster

This song means so much not only to me but to my whole family. David Byrne is a legend and one of the greatest songwriters ever. If this song is being played, you know it's being played super loud with me screaming my heart out to it.

A song that defines the teenage you?

Archy Marshall - Arise Dear Brother

This whole album influenced my teenage years, but this song is one I can relate to my teenage years the most. Young love, heartbreaks and meeting new people all wrapped up into one slow, woozy electronic tune.

An anthemic song?

New Order - Bizarre Love Triangle - Extended Dance Mix

An anthem between me and my housemates. The big synth, the rhythm of the drums and that little melody that plays throughout the song is unbelievable. What a way to get the boys together.

Best song to end an all-nighter?

Jimmy Radcliffe - Long After Tonight Is All Over

The song title says it all really. I'm a big fan of northern soul records and I always will be.
