Name, where are you from?
We all grew up in different areas, from London/Bristol and everywhere in between. We met in our teens, spent a lot of time together in Bristol before isolating ourselves in a barn in Andover writing, recording and getting a bit weird. We’re now based in and around Brixton. With that track record who knows where we’ll be next year.
Describe your style in three words?
Alternative space rock.
What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
Blur at Hyde Park, 2009. One of the best crowds I’ve ever been in. Being with a few mates during the madness of 'Song 2' at the end of their set was one of the biggest adrenaline rushes, especially when you’re 14.
If you could be on the line up with any two bands in history?
Oasis and The Beatles. Probably the biggest crowd you could pull. Ever.
Which Subcultures have influenced you?
45+ year old dudes. No idea why.
If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
Elvis Presley. Gotta pay fealty to the King.
Of all the venues you’ve been to, which is your favourite?
We love Omeara, its got a very cool vibe. We're playing there next on 8th October (hint).
Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
Chris Martin. He's been unanimously rinsed by the world since the beginning of time, and for what? First two albums are exclusive bangers. Thank you, Chris.
The first track you played on repeat?
'Edelweiss' by Bill Lee, Charmian Carr. The first few CDs I got given as a kid were mostly soundtracks. Edelweiss, my word I was obsessed with that. Scouring through my parents' collection I was a big fan of Van Morrison’s big hit 'Domino', always put me in a good mood. Tough call.
A song that defines the teenage you?
'Say It Ain't So' by Weezer. A lot of baggy jeans, a lot of vans, a lot of beanies. Not a lot of girlfriends.
One record you would keep forever?
'Moon Safari' by Air. A real key moment for us when we all discovered and fell in love with this album. If we were all stuck with one album I think this is one we could all agree on.
A song lyric that has inspired you?
'You Let My Tyres Down' by Tropical Fuck Storm. Tropical Fuck Storm. Gareth Liddiard is a wordsmith. This song just paints a picture so well.
A song you wished you had written?
'Decks Dark' by Radiohead. Best song on this album. The bass part locks in so good.
Best song to turn up loud?
'Shine A Light' by Spiritualized. Buckle up.
A song people wouldn’t expect you to like?
'Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom!!' by Venga Boys. A classic.
The song to get you straight on the dance floor?
'Soul Bossa Nova' by Quincy Jones. Real freaky naughty.
Best song to end an all-nighter?
'At The River' by Groove Armada. Time for a cry.
Any new bands you are into at the moment?
'Frame Of Reference' by Drug Store Romeos. Just lovely.
