A Keane Pearce Shaw Photo
Name, where are you from?
Keane Pearce Shaw from Clifton, Nottingham.
What do you do?
TV and Film Producer.
Describe your style in three words:
Blonde Gypsy Sport.
Which music defines the teenage you?
I went through two phases. The younger teenage me thought I was gangster. Eminem, Roll Deep Crew, 50 Cent, The Game, Kano, Dizzee, NWA. But then I quickly realised the thug life wasn’t for me after discovering Kings of Leon - The Bucket and The Libertines album.
What is the last piece of music you bought?
Working in music I really should buy more music. But I think the last actual thing I purchased was the recent Foals album.
A British icon or band who inspire your sound?
Pete Doherty. Absolute hero.
What has been your all-time favourite gig?
A band called ‘Larrikin Love’ in the back of a little sweaty pub in Derby circa 2004. One of my favourite ever bands that unfortunately split up after one album. Me and my pal were arm’s length from the band for the whole thing, then popped around the back to meet Ed after.
What was the first song you played on repeat?
'Up The Bracket' by The Libertines.
A song from your favourite album?
'Suck It And See' by Arctic Monkeys.
A song you wish you’d written?
'Perfect Gentlemen' by Wyclef Jean.
Most meaningful lyrics to inspire change?
"When routine bites hard and ambitions are low,
resentment rides high but emotions won't grow.
We’re changing our ways, taking different roads.”
'Love Will Tear Us Apart' by Joy Division.
Best song to bring people together?
I’ve just watched The Killers Glastonbury performance, you drop 'Mr Brightside' anywhere in the UK and people will go bananas.
Best love song of all time?
'Only Ones Who Know' by Arctic Monkeys.
Is there a song you like that people wouldn’t expect?
'Touch' by Little Mix. Tune.
What new music/bands are you listening to?
There’s a Scandi pop singer called Sigrid. Again, music I wouldn't generally usually listen to but her voice is ridiculous and she’s super cool. Also rate Bad Sounds, HAUS and AJ Tracey.
