What is your name?
Tom Hamilton.
where are you from?
Liverpool.
What do you do?
Shout and play the guitar a bit.
Describe your style in three words?
Lively, raucous and loud!
How should your music be listened to?
Off your nut jumping round someone’s living room in Birkenhead.
What do you miss about home when you’re on tour?
La’go, a bar in Liverpool.
What British music icons inspire your sound today?
Steve Marriot, Jimmy Page, Marc Bolan, and the Beatles.
What was the first song you played on repeat?
'I Can’t Dance With You' by the Small Faces
Two of the Small Faces main influences were The Who and Booker T & the MGs. This song is the perfect combination of groove and aggression.
A song from your favourite album?
'Lust for Life' by Iggy Pop.
Great tune to bop about to. Also have a hilarious memory of our bass player being dropped on his backside while crowdsurfing to this when we supported Iggy at a festival in France.
A song you wish you had written?
'Build me up buttercup' by The Foundations
Just boss when it comes on in town
A song lyric that has inspired you?
'Bigger Boys & Stolen Sweethearts' by the Arctic Monkeys
“There's always somebody taller with more of a wit
And he's equipped to enthrall her and her friends think he’s fit
And you just can't measure up though, you don't have a prayer
Wishing that you'd made the most of her when she was there.”
Amazing lyrics!
Four new bands you are listening to now, and why?
Peace
seen them at Sound City festival last year and they were a lot better than I expected.
The Blame
Local Liverpool band, I’ve seen a few times. Anthemic Indie with a Doorsy/Jazzy twist.
Daddy Longlegs
American garage blues. Fantastic live show, one of the best I’ve ever seen.
