A Picture This Photo
Name?
Ryan Hennessy & Jimmy Rainsford (Picture This).
Where are you from?
Kildare, Ireland.
What do you do?
Write, record and perform music that makes you miss the boyfriend/girlfriend you've never even had.
Describe your style in three words?
Off the wall.
If you could make a record with anyone from history?
Michael Jackson because he's a one of kind musical genius and Dirty Dianna makes me wanna cry because it's so good.
What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
Arctic Monkeys in Marlay Park. Jake Bugg and Miles Kane supported them, best line up I've ever seen. 505 is my favourite Arctic Monkeys track and that's where I got to hear it live for the first time.
What British music icons inspire your sound today?
Oasis & Queen. We've got big anthems like them with big choruses.
If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
Muhammad Ali, because he seems like the funniest most charismatic man of all time.
Which British subculture means the most to you?
Mod subculture means the most to me. I've been inspired by it since I discovered it at the age of around 14. I just love ye style and I'm going to buy a Vespa online after this.
If you could share the bill with any British band in history?
Oasis. They're my favourite band of all time and Liam Gallagher is my idol and they have Irish roots. Songbird is probably my favourite oasis song, so underrated and written by Liam which is cool.
What music did you listen to growing up?
I listened to Oasis a lot growing up and for around a year when I was 16 I pretty much exclusively listened to Biggy Smalls.
Picture this are an Irish rock duo and their self-titled debut album will be released 25th August 2017.
What was the first song you played on repeat?
'Dirty Old Town' by The Dubliners.
One record you would keep forever?
'Stayin' Alive' by Bee Gees.
A song from your favourite album?
'I Wanna Be Adored' by The Stone Roses.
A song you wish you had written?
'Smells Like Teen Spirit' by Nirvana.
A song that defines the teenage you?
'Rock n Roll Star' by Oasis.
What was the last piece of music you bought?
'China Town' by Liam Gallagher.
A song lyric that inspires you?
"Shyness is nice and shyness can stop you,
from doing all the things in life you'd like to."
From 'Ask' by The Smiths.
Is there a song you like that people wouldn’t expect?
'Push It' by Salt-N-Pepa.
Best love song of all time?
'I Have Nothing' by Whitney Houston.
Best song to turn up loud?
'Eez-eh' by Kasabian.
Best song to bring people together?
'Wonderwall' by Oasis.
4 songs you can’t stop listening to right now?
'Charlemagne' by Blossoms
Because the singer sounds like Kurt Cobain in the opening line and it has catchy musical hooks.
'Emily' by Catfish & The Bottlemen
It feels like I've experienced what Van is talking about in the song
'The Ballad Of Me And My Brain' by The 1975
Lyrically amazing and Matty's vocals are great on it.
'Hey' by Slaves
Blew my mind when I first heard it on Jools Holland, just an amazing band.
