Describe your style in three words?
Sexy, Fresh, Classic.
The first track you played on repeat? And where did you play it?
Phyllis Dillon - Perfidia (with Tommy McCook & The Supersonics)
When I was introduced to this song as a youth, I listened to it over and over because it reminded me of a dream that I couldn’t remember nor forget.
A song from your favourite album? And what does this track mean to you?
The Stone Roses - I Wanna Be Adored - Remastered
This is hands down one of the best records from start to finish. I love this track because it’s unlike anything the Roses ever did and it speaks to dark and the light inside us all.
A song from your most memorable gig?
The Style Council - Shout To The Top - USA Remix
I remember seeing Paul Weller for the first time and he absolutely blew my mind. I couldn’t believe what I was witnessing - his gigs are always so electric.
A song that always gets you up and dancing?
Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons - The Night
You can’t not dance when this song comes on. I reckon it’s virtually impossible. It’s not only infectious - it’s reminiscent of better days.
A new song you're listening to? Why do you like this artist?
Destroy Boys - I Threw Glass at My Friend's Eyes and Now I'm on Probation
These girls are punk af. Incredible energy both live and on the record. Great seeing young empowered women stepping up to the front.
Best song to turn up loud? And why?
White Lies - Death - Crystal Castles Remix
I listen to this when I’m alone so I can listen to it loud. It reminds me of first hearing Born Slippy by Underworld and thinking how brilliantly they balance a hard and dark disguised by something familiar sounding.
A song that defines the teenage you? And the memories it evokes?
Descendents - Hope
I was an angsty youth and this song reminds me of my first love and I cutting class and driving to the beach.
An anthemic song? Why does it get your pulse racing?
Jeremy Enigk - Shade and the Black Hat
I love Sunny Day Real Estate bit little did I know that Enigk’s powerful voice was given a platform through this record and truly showcased through this particular song. To this day it still gives me the chills every time I hear it.
Best song to end an all-nighter?
Donna Summer - Last Dance - 12" Version
This song kinda speaks for itself but it’s my favorite end of the night song and one I often use to close my dj gigs with. Couple Summer's voice with Moroder’s iconic sound and you have a perfect recipe for success. Absolutely undeniable.
