Name, where are you from?
Kevin Fingier, from Buenos Aires, Argentina.

What do you do?
I'm a record producer, composer, musician and DJ. I ran Fingier Records, an Acid Jazz Records subsidiary label. I'm Los Aggrotones guitar player and I've got my Soul radio show at Totally Wired Radio.

Describe your style in three words?
Experimental, multifaceted, meticulous.

Which music defines the teenage you?
There's not one particular genre or band, but I would say The Velvet Underground is probably the band that generated the biggest impact on me at that time.

A British icon or band who inspire your sound?
Paul Weller is a huge inspiration for me. I admire his creativity, the progressions of each album he's made between the following one, and The Style Council is my favourite band.

04Playlist Notes

What was the first song you played on repeat?
'Cold Gin' by Kiss. When I was 8 years old. I was just a kid and that was the band which got me into music and rock. I became a music addict since then.

A song from your favourite album?
'Our Favourite Shop' from Our Favourite Shop album by The Style Council and 'Dread beat and blood' by Linton Kwesi Johnson, from Poet and the Roots album. It's hard to pick only one!

A song you wish you’d written?
'Love Songs' by Margo Guryan is just perfect.

What is the last piece of music you bought?
'Same Beat' by Fred Wesley & The JB's.

Best song to bring people together?
'Equal Rights' by Peter Tosh.

What has been your all-time favourite gig?
Georgie Fame at Canary Wharf (London, 2011).

Best love song of all time?
'Love, Love, Love' by Bobby Hebb. I don't know if it's the best of all time, but is definitely one of my favourites.

Is there a song you like that people wouldn’t expect?
'Isobel' by Björk.

What new music/bands are you listening to?
I love Michael Kiwanuka's last album, Nicolas Godin's solo albums are incredible and Lee Fields & The Expressions is amazing too, so I'd pick: 'Living in Denial' by Michael Kiwanuka, 'Club Nine' by Nicolas Godin and 'Precious Love' by Lee Fields & The Expressions.
