Courteeners

Biggest headline show to date at Heaton Park

Friday 29th May 2015

British indie rock band The Courteeners hail from Greater Manchester, and were formed in 2006, having been longtime school friends. Fronted by Liam Fray who also writes all the music and lyrics for Courteeners songs, the band are now set to perform their biggest UK headline show to date, at Manchester's Heaton Park, on Friday June 5th 2015.

They will be the first band to headline Heaton Park since the Stone Roses played there in 2012. The band’s last Manchester gigs (at the Castlefield Bowl on 5th and 6th July 2013) sold out all 16,000 tickets in less that 24hours. The gig will take place on the eve of the annual Parklife Festival weekend on June 6-7 at the same venue.

Supporting Courteeners at this hometown gig at Heaton Park will be fellow Manchester artist Bipolar Sunshine, as well as Peace and Blossoms.

The quartet burst on to the music scene in 2008 with hits such as 'Not Nineteen Forever' and 'What Took You So Long' which received major UK chart success, as well as the gold album release of Falcon in 2010.

2014 was a huge year for the band. Last August they unveiled their fourth album; Concrete Love, which you can hear below, and performed at headline slots at 2014’s Reading and Leeds Festivals, as well as embarking on their most successful UK tour to date, where they played to over 50,000 fans across the UK.

The band are also set to headline V Festival later this summer.
