GIG SOLD OUT

Goat Girl return to SubcultureLive at London's iconic 100 Club after supporting The Fall at the legendary Subculture gig in July 2017. Goat Girl will headline a night featuring some of 2018's best new music.

Goat Girl
Goat Girl emerged from the close-knit south London scene, born in venues like The Windmill and including bands like Shame, Fat White Family, Horsey and Sorry. "We help each other - I put you on, you put me on - because we genuinely like each other’s music. We’d played gigs all over before but never really settled in a comfortable environment, which is what The Windmill is. It’s an important place for us, it was the first space that our music made sense to exist within. It’s a safe space where music is genuinely listened to and appreciated, and where laws and licensing haven't reached over to ruin the venue", explained singer Clottie Cream.

In 2018 Goat Girl released their self-titled debut album. A quickly recorded yet cohesive set of songs, drawing comparisons to the humour of The Kinks and the anger of The Slits. A triumphant year of lauded live shows culminated in the band recently picking up Q Magazine's 2018 award for Best Breakthrough Act.

"Goat Girl have always been an impressive force live; a band that grab you by the throat and demand you pay attention. But with their self-titled debut, what they have to say comes even more clearly into focus. Goat Girl is the voice of a group that quite sincerely don’t give a shit what those commenters think. Because this isn’t for them. This is for the discontent, furious youth who are just trying to find their lot in life. Funny, raging, unpredictable and electric…"

audiobooks
An avant-garde duo comprising Evangeline Ling and David Wrench, audiobooks performed their first gig in 2018 at the Heavenly Weekender in Hebden and released their debut LP 'Now! (in a minute)' via Heavenly Recordings in November the same year. The pair juxtaposes unconventional lyrical and musical elements with Ling's performances drawing comparisons to great innovators such as Bjork and Mark E Smith, creating ambitious, sexy art house pop.

"...she is mercurial. Like Mark E Smith, she offers glimpses of other worlds, grubby places behind closed doors, snatches of sinister conversations often in an unfamiliar language."
The Quietus

Naima Bock
Wonderfully glitchy, and autonomous sensory meridian response inducing new music. Experimental lo-fi singer-songwriting from solo artist Naima Bock, also known as Naima Jelly of Goat Girl.

The live sets will be expertly interwoven with DJ sets from influential and new music DJs:

Queen Kong (NTS)
