We're all from Cardiff except Estelle who is from Ynys môn, North Wales.

What do you do?
Musicians & vocalists in Baby Queens.

Describe your style in three words?
R: Individual. Swag. Statement.
C: Vintage. Hip Hop. Kitsch.

You can make a record with anyone from history - who would it be?
V: Stevie Wonder.
M: Marvin Gaye.

What do you miss about home when you're on tour?
R: My bed and basketball.
M: Homemade cooking.

What’s the best gig you’ve ever been too?
E: Tough question but Interpol in Manchester was one of the most epic performances I've ever seen, in 2008.
C: Jimmy Cliff in the Manchester Academy.

What British music icons inspire your sound today?
E: The Clash, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Kinks. All the Britpop bands from the 90s, Morrissey, sounds clichè but I think everyone is influenced by these bands whether they like it or not.
M: Amy Winehouse.

You can spend an hour with anyone from history - who would it be?
R: Mohammed Ali because of his flair, confidence and infectious personality.
M: John Lennon, to write a beautiful song with him.


 

Baby Queens are Cardiff based 5-piece who fuse elements of RnB, Soul, Pop, Reggae, Rock and Hip Hop music. Their self-titled debut album was released in October 2016.

E: 'Don't Look Back In Anger' by Oasis.
R: 'Where Did Our Love Go' by The Supremes - I was addicted to Motown as a kid growing up.

M: 'I'm Still Waiting' by Diana Ross. 
C: 'London Calling' by The Clash - track would be 'Jimmy Jazz'.

Song you wish you had written?
V: 'Is This Love?' by Bob Marley.
M: 'Bohemian Rhapsody' by Queen.  

Song that defines the teenage you?
E: 'The Milkman Of Human Kindness' by Billy Bragg.
R: 'Crosstown Traffic' by Jimi Hendrix.

A song lyric that inspires you?
V: "Love the life you live, live the life you love."
'Live A Life Of Love' by Bob Marley.

C: "Well your faith was strong but you needed proof, 
You saw her bathing on the roof,
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew ya."

Beach House
They take me to a beautiful place in my mind.
The Growlers
I love garage rock and California surf sounds. Can't fault these.

This song has such a heartfelt vibes to it.

David Lynch director of twin peaks decided to make a record, and this collaboration with Singer Lykke Li is very beautiful.
