A Eden Burundi Photo
Name, where are you from?
My name’s Eden and I'm French!
Describe your style in three words?
If it was to be broken down to three words I would describe it as oversize, streetwear but above all comfortable.
What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
The best gig I've ever been to I think is Joey Badass’s concert in Brussels in 2015. It was one of my first gigs ever and I had been and still am a huge fan of his. He even reached out to me a couple of times during the show!
If you could be on the line up with any two artists in history?
My dream would be to be on stage alongside J Dilla and Kaytranada! both pioneers and very talented individuals that make amazing music!!!
Which subcultures have influenced you?
My main influences stem from searching for the samples I heard in the old school hip hop. I listen to all kinds and genres but the most influential to me are soul, funk, jazz, but also a lot of current genres like melodic trap, alté and such.
If you could spend an hour with anyone from history, who would you choose?
I would love to spend an hour with Jay Z! He seems to be a genius at manoeuvring oneself in the industry I want to work in so I'm sure he has some great tips!
Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
To me, DJ Screw from Houston and Old school rappers from Memphis (Three 6 Mafia, DJ Spanish Fly, Tommy Wright III…) don’t get the recognition they deserve compared to the impact and influence they had on the current sound and aesthetic of hip hop/trap nowadays.
The first track you played on repeat?
'Chan Chan' by Buena Vista Social Club.
A song that defines the teenage you?
'Electric Relaxation' by A Tribe Called Quest.
One record you would keep forever?
'Expensive Sh*t' EP by Fela Kuti.
A song lyric that has inspired you?
“All this talk of securing the bag is hysterical, You are the bag, you gon’ stay rich if you take care of you“
From 'SELF LUH' by Mach-Hommy.
The song that would get you straight on the dance floor?
'Pana' by Tekno.
Best song to turn up loud?
'BELEK' by La Fève.
A song people wouldn’t expect you to like?
'Seabird' by Innovations.
Best song to end an all-nighter on?
'FEEL' by IZCO.
Any new music you are listening to right now
'Meme a distance on est proche' by Zamdane.
'Bam Bam' by Mike Shabb.
'Palm Angels' by Armani Ceasar.
'UP 2 U' by dreamcastmoe.
'Doris' by Khruangbin.
'No Ties - Amapiano Remix' by Tshego.
