A Harriet Photo
Describe your style in three words?
Minimal but extroverted
The first track you played on repeat? And where did you play it?
Paul Simon - You Can Call Me Al
When I was like 10, In my parents living room on their big old record player. I’d have to pick the needle up and move it back after every play
A song from your favourite album? And what does this track mean to you?
Band Of Skulls - Bruises
This album came out the year I had my first ever major festival experience (Reading fest obvs) but as well as majorly soundtracking that summer I am just absolutely obsessed with how they produced this album and how rich in layers it is.
A song from your most memorable gig?
Black Honey - Midnight
Black Honey played Electric Ballroom for the first time last autumn. It was the last night of the UK leg of the tour and the biggest headline show they had played to date. The whole night from start to finish was a rollercoaster of nerves and excitement.
A song that always gets you up and dancing?
Maggie Rogers - Light On
Maggie’s music has an irresistible quality that just drags you up on your feet and gets you dancing.
A new song you're listening to? Why do you like this artist?
North America - Call Me by My Name
Imagine a hot summer's day lounging in the sun with not a worry in the world, that’s how this song makes me feel. And the band are as dreamy as their music.
Best song to turn up loud? And why?
The Amazons - Mother - Single Version
Turn this up in the shower and listen to it as loud as possible while giving your all into singing along. The louder you play it the more it’s Zepplin-esque tones and layers of depth will engulf you.
A song that defines the teenage you? And the memories it evokes?
My Chemical Romance - I'm Not Okay (I Promise)
Angsty teenager + Gerard Way screaming that he’s not ok + a music video where the band plays outcast teens at a secondary school? Need I say more.
An anthemic song? Why does it get your pulse racing?
Florence + The Machine - Hunger
Florence makes this song so powerful. Everything she touches she converts into anthemic power. I love the pushes in this song and the way it drives forward
Best song to end an all-nighter?
The War On Drugs - Strangest Thing
Listen to this as the sun rises and then try and tell me I’m wrong.
