A Kelsy Karter Photo
Name, where are you from?
My name is Kelsy Karter and I’m originally from New Zealand, but I consider myself more of a pirate.
What do you do?
I’m the frontman in a rock&roll band and actor/director.
Describe your style in three words?
A romantic greaser.
What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
The Struts are the best live band I’ve seen.
If you could be on the line up with any two bands in history?
The Rolling Stones and Harry Styles.
Which subcultures have influenced you?
'60s and '70s punk rock scene and the circus.
If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
My sister, who passed away.
Of all the independent venues you’ve played, which is your favourite?
Rock City in Nottingham… it was a sold-out show and felt like the proper '90s rock scene. It was electric!
Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
James Brown and Sam Cooke - I wanted to become a singer because of soul music and both these men taught me how to sing and how to feel what I was singing. James - Try Me Sam - Bring It On Home To Me
The first track you played on repeat?
'Something' by The Beatles.
A song that defines the teenage you?
'Runaround Sue' by Dion (HAHA).
One record you would keep forever?
'Goodbye Yellow Brick Road' by Elton John.
A song lyric that has inspired you?
"Wise men say, only fools rush in but I can’t help falling in love with you."
From 'Can't Help Falling In Love' by Elvis.

We could be heroes, just for one day. 'Heroes' by David Bowie.

'Lose Yourself' by Eminem.
Best song to bring people together?
'I Will Survive' by Gloria Gaynor.
A song people wouldn’t expect you to like?
Anything by Harry Styles ;) (sarcasm).
The song that would get you straight on the dance floor?
'Summer Nights' from Grease!
Best song to end an all-nighter?
Anything by Bruce Springsteen.
Any new bands you are into at the moment?
White Reaper!!!!
