Describe your style in three words?
Modern soul inspired.
The first track you played on repeat?
The Beatles - Octopus's Garden - 2019 Mix
It was my first Beatles song I heard and I was in primary 4, our teacher introduced us to them and it's where I mark my first serious foray into music.
A song from your favorite album?
Marvin Gaye - God Is Love
I listen to this song to find hope, inspiration and love, I don't consider myself religious but I love the belief system people have for their cultures and religions.
A song from your most memorable gig?
Arctic Monkeys - Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino
I heard the album before I saw them at TRNSMT festival but when they played this I felt like it set a new standard of how festivals should be played.
A song that always gets you up and dancing?
LMC - Time To Groove - LMC X Mark McCabe
I love this song for its simplicity, it isn't trying to be anything more than a great dance song and I love that, it always makes me feel happy and want to dance with my friends.
A new song you're listening to?
Durand Jones & The Indications - Don’t You Know
I listen to this and feel the power behind it, I discovered Durand Jones and the indications after flying through recommended artists and they have a great musical talent for mood and soul.
Best song to turn up loud?
The Rolling Stones - Sympathy For The Devil - 50th Anniversary Edition
This song loud represents rock and roll at its finest, full of rage in Mick's singing, the subject matter, Keith Richards piercing guitar solo. There's probably a reason why most Vietnam films used it.
A song that defines the teenage you?
The Who - See Me, Feel Me - Live At Woodstock
This song was the first proper one I played on guitar, from John's powering bass, Pete's rhythm being the best as always, Roger's vocals conveying the message of the song and Keith moon going crazy on drums. I'd of loved to see the full Woodstock performance of The Who.
An anthemic song?
Dougie MacLean - Caledonia
I don't really do "anthems" they're always just bad songs that have a cheesy chorus but if I had to choose one it'd be 'Caledonia' by Dougie MacLean, this song represents Scotland's music ability and I still believe it out does any other countries folk singers.
Best song to end an all-nighter?
ABBA - Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)
It's Abba. What more can I say?
