Name, where are you from?
LINN, Copenhagen.
Describe your style in three words?
Could be worse.
What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
Hard question, but the first thing that comes to mind is Crack Cloud at Roskilde Festival in Denmark a few years ago. It was a true trance-like punk rave experience, and God, I miss those kinds of experiences!
If you could be on the line up with any two artists in history?
Grace Jones and Solange. They’re both incredible performers, so elegant, so powerful. They are also high on my list of best live experiences. Luckily, they are both still alive, so there’s actually a chance it could happen, right?
Which subcultures have influenced you?
I’ve drawn a great deal of inspiration from the punk and experimental post-punk scene and especially bands like The Birthday Party and the Danish band Sods (later Sort Sol).
If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
I’d like to meet Else Marie Pade (1924-2016). She was an exceptional Danish composer of electronic music and active in the resistance during the Second World War. She started as a pianist, educated from the Royal Danish Music Conservatory, but because of the repercussions of her stay in an internment camp during the war, she couldn’t play the piano and she started composing electronic music instead.
Of all the venues you’ve been to or played, which is your favourite?
I played Plan B in Malmö, Sweden, about a year ago at a big street party they co-hosted. My band played right after Lydia Lunch and it was one of my best experiences playing live. I really like the very chilled and diverse atmosphere at the venue, always with a great line up of artists from various genres. The venue has experienced police raids and been threatened to shut down several times by local authorities, but luckily, they found a solution and survived. It’s so very important that Plan B and other small venues out there will get all the support they need to survive this strange time too.
Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
Yoko Ono - because she’s a genius and you know it!

The first track you played on repeat?
The songs from a Danish Kids’ TV-show called Bamse & Kylling, which is next level. I think my favourite is 'Askes Lille Muntre' by Aske Bentzon and Søren Hauch-Fausbøll. Now I get to hear it on repeat again every day with my 2-year-old daughter.
A song that defines the teenage you?
'50ft Queenie (4-Track Demo Version)' by PJ Harvey.
One record you would keep forever?
Definitely 'Harvest' by Neil Young. I’ve listened to it since I was a kid and it’s so special to me. The track 'The Needle and the Damage Done' is one of the most beautiful songs ever.
A song lyric that has inspired you?
”Jesus died for somebody’s sins but not mine”
From 'Gloria' by Patti Smith.
The song that would get you straight on the dance floor?
On Christmas Eve it’s a Danish tradition to walk around the Christmas tree singing Christmas carols. but in my family, we celebrate a little differently. My dad puts on 'Love Shack' by The B-52’s and then we dance like crazy around a houseplant. Very classy.
A song you wished you had written?
Anything by John Lennon. Often when I listen to his songs, I get so overwhelmed by the feeling that I might as well stop writing music because I would never be able to make anything as good. It makes me depressed and excited at the same time. One of my favourite John Lennon songs is 'Jealous Guy', how ironic.
Best song to turn up loud?
'Lush' by Dean Blunt.
A song people wouldn’t expect you to like?
'The Swan' by Camille Saint-Saëns.
Best song to end an all-nighter on?
'Just A Little Boy' by Swans.
Any new music you are listening to right now?
There are many inspiring new acts coming out of Denmark at the moment and two of my favourites are Blood Child and Poptones. They both represent a nuanced and surprising take on contemporary rock music.
