Store Assistant — Paris
A Malte Sobecki Photo
Malte Sobecki, I am from a small village in Germany but have been living in Paris for a few years now.
I spend my time outside with my friends, I take pictures, I print stuff on clothes, study foreign languages and I work at Fred Perry!
Pacino Donnie Brasco (dream big).
It was a small gig by the Parisian band Supernova and my favourite song of them is the same as the band name 'Supernova'.
I can’t name a particular subculture, it’s the people who surround me!
I just have to say Charles Aznavour... I love the song 'For Me Formidable'!
That’s a hard one because there are so many! But I would say La Java, we went there almost every weekend before the pandemic. I like it a lot because you never really know what to expect but in the end, we always had good nights!
Unfortunately, I can't tell you about the BEST-kept secret! But I can tell you about a guy in the neighbourhood of Strasbourg-Saint-Denis who has acquired over 3000 caps on a trip around the world, which are now waiting to be worn in a storage room.
In the Belleville district, no doubt!
'Hip-Hop' by Dead Prez. My old friend Max played it on his Sony Ericsson phone at the bus stop about ten years ago, I couldn't get enough of Dead Prez then.
'Bette Davis Eyes' by Kim Carnes. That's a hard one but I think I'll go for this classic by Kim Carnes, simply because I've listened to it continuously over the years.
'Schreib es mir in den Sand' by Frank Schöbel.
"In a French-ass restaurant
Hurry up with my damn croissants
I am a God"
From 'I Am A God' by Kanye West. I’m not sure if it’s inspiring but it sure is funny.
'Last Christmas' by Wham! If I had written this song, I would be able to pay all the outstanding bills in the world every December and people would have less stomach ache when they open their letterbox.
'Going Through It' by Skepta. When I lived with my friend Victor, we listened to that song every morning at full volume.
'Cornucopia' by Black Sabbath. It's rare that I listen to Black Sabbath but this song goes off for me.
'La Dolce Vita' by Ryan Paris. We're dancing like in the dolce vita!
'I’ll be here in the Morning' by Townes Van Zandt. A gentle way to end an all-nighter!
'Menace II Society' by Mall Grab - Yes! I’m into Mall Grab at the moment, a talented producer and DJ from Australia. Give it a listen!
