Describe your style in three words?
Classic, smooth, Congolese.
What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
Watch the Throne, the energy is indescribable and it set a benchmark for every show that came afterwards in my opinion.
If you could be on the line up with any two artists in history?
Sade & Beach House, I think I would fit somewhere right in between those two worlds sonically.
Which subcultures have influenced you?
Paris Banlieue culture, it’s very similar to council estate culture in the UK with a few different nuances in fashion, customs, music etc. It’s a big part of my style actually.
If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
My younger self, so I could spit game to him.
Of all the venues you’ve been to or played, which is your favourite?
Jazz Cafe, it was the first show I did and I opened for Kelis so I’ll never forget that night.
Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
James Fauntleroy, have you heard a Cocaine 80s song? If you haven’t go listen, more people should know about that little supergroup, amazing musicianship.
