Describe your style in three words?
Loose, Drab, Sexy...

What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
D: Dirty Projectors at the Roundhouse playing 'No Intention'. I'd been a fan of their album 'Bitte Orca' for a while before I saw them live. The arrangements are complex but really accessible. The overall sound was huge, and the backing vocals and harmonies drifted beautifully through that room.

If you could be on the line up with any two bands in history?
M: I'd have loved to play with Clor & LA Priest. Reckon that would be a good night out.

Which subcultures have influenced you?
M: Growing up it was definitely Motown and Northern Soul. My Mum would get the hoover out on Sunday mornings and blare it out. Non-discriminate dance music. The best.

D: I listened to a lot of Math music between 2008-2010. It had a massive impact on the way I play guitar now, bands like Colour, Blakfish and Suffer Like G Did. Many of the guitar players around that time would stab Jazz chords over disjointed drum beats which was really different and interesting at that time for me.

If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
M: George Harrison, John Lennon would probably throw hot coffee on you for asking questions about the Beatles early years.

Of all the venues you’ve played, which is your favourite?
M: Has to be the Brixton Windmill, It's as close to home as a venue can be for us. We're still cutting our teeth there and love playing.

Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
M: 'Fantasy Black Channel' by Late of the Pier is outrageous. When I was 16 that album was everything. Before the stupid indie boom that proceeded it, that album felt like it was pushing forward in terms of the 'Guitar' music around that same time. Parts of that record have a real pop sensibility, and when it's not doing that - it's unrelenting and brilliant.

It's inspiring because it stands alone. It's not on the tail end of regurgitated ideas or trying to make statements that bear no quality behind them. It's passionate, original and inspiring for those reasons.
