What do you do?
Student
Describe your style in three words?
‘EAT’ ‘SLEEP’ ‘WORK’, because good health is very important to create artwork.
Which music defines the teenage you?
I was a teen until last year, and I remember the latter half well. While I was studying a lot to pass the entrance exam of an art university, I listened to songs of Queen. Their songs really lift me up, for example, 'Don’t Stop Me Now'. I started listening to songs of 70s~80s triggered by the soundtrack of the movie “Guardians Of The Galaxy”.
A British icon who has inspired you, and why?
Freddie Mercury. It was sometimes hard for me to fit into my high school, so I really admired him for standing tall and perseverance.
What has been your all-time favourite gig?
The gig of Queen + Adam Lambert at Nippon Budokan in 2016 was the first one I watched. The gig of Gorillaz at Zepp DiverCity Tokyo last year stands out in my memory. Before I watched this gig, I preferred Blur, but I enjoyed the gig more than I expected.
What is your favourite independent venue to watch live music?
Nippon Budokan. The national flag is hung from the ceiling, so it feels ceremonious. The distance to artists is not too close, so it makes them more divine. These points are perfect, I think.
Do you have a favourite local record shop?
I don’t have a record player.
Tell us about the illustration which you drew for Record Store Day?
Music that was the main culture at that time may now be treated as a subculture.
I drew musical pieces that are in the spotlight without changing in those days and reach the heart of the person.

What was the first song you played on repeat?
'Bohemian Rhapsody' by Queen. The music video is refined to the nines. I think I had to listen many times because I couldn’t understand all parts of the song listening just once.
A song you wish you'd written?
I can’t play any instruments, but 'Astronomy Domine' by Pink Floyd. I think Syd Barrett is so cool. I’d like to play the guitar like him in the lyrical way.
A song from your favourite album?
It’s also 'Astronomy Domine' from the album 'The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn' by Pink Floyd. I listened to other albums but it was too sensational for me to forget, probably because this song was a debut work.
What is the last piece of music you bought?
I would like to get 'Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino' by Arctic Monkeys.
Best song to bring people together?
'All You Need Is Love' because everyone knows The Beatles probably.
Best song to end an all-nighter?
'No Surprises' by Radiohead. I feel myself being falling asleep, listening to the guitar part of the intro.
Best love song of all time?
'This Will Be Our Year' by The Zombies. I like the lyrics too, saying that they both already have feelings for each other.
Is there a song you like that people wouldn't expect?
'My Generation' by The Who. I like loud and upbeat music too.
