Cosy Fleece Jazz.

What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
I saw Bat For Lashes at Glasgow 02 ABC back in 2009. It was right in the midst of my most intense teenage gig-going days. I turned up myself as I was obsessed with her first two albums and wasn’t going to miss out - despite having no-one to go with. The performance was a shock to the system as I had been used to attending gigs with wild crowds and I was blown away by the fact the entire room stood near enough still - in total awe - for the entire show. It radically changed my perception of what a gig could and should be.

If you could be on the line up with any two bands in history?
Radiohead & Beck, because they are two of my all-time favourite artists, and they’ve toured together before. I’ve never seen Beck play live which is a bit of a travesty at this point.

Which subcultures have influenced you?
Native tongues, a collective of American east coast '80s/'90s Hip Hop artists. The lyrics of A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Mos Def have influenced me heavily, promoting ideas of positivity, tolerance and societal harmony.

If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
It would have to be someone who’s going to make you laugh for an hour straight, so definitely Billy Connolly.

Of all the venues you’ve played, which is your favourite?
Old Hairdressers in Glasgow. It’s a tiny wee room with no stage. Gigs there are always so much fun to play and to watch. The lack of a raised stage removes the pretension of some other gigs.

Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
I don’t think Romare gets the level of credit he truly deserves - one of the most original and inventive producers in the world. I’ll never get bored of listening to his music.
