Describe your style in three words?
Modern Retro mix.
The first track you played on repeat? And where did you play it?
The Jam - In The City
Played this for a whole day in 1979 jumping up & down in my bedroom with a Rickenbacker air guitar. Quality tune that still sounds as good to me today.
A song from your favourite album? And what does this track mean to you?
The Who - Love Reign O'er Me
Sit in a dark room and play this loud, one of my life's greatest pleasures!!
A song from your most memorable gig?
Ocean Colour Scene - The Riverboat Song
Tough one as many memorable gigs, one that stands out is a very young Ocean Colour Scene at Portsmouth Uni, they finished up their set with Small Faces songs. I missed my boat back to the IOW to hear the last song, the three hour wait until the next one was worth it.
A song that always gets you up and dancing?
Nolan Porter - If I Could Only Be Sure
Always loved this tune, it doesn't get played that much on the soul scene so when ever a DJ puts this on, I feel it's my duty to get on the floor.
A new song you're listening to? Why do you like this artist?
Marquis Drive - Proud
A cracking tune from a cracking band - Marquis Drive, these guys have just been signed by Alan McGee ex Creation Records / Oasis manager. Well written tunes played with passion, if you get the chance see them live, then do, you could discover your new favorite band!!
Best song to turn up loud? And why?
Oasis - Champagne Supernova
Love the guitar work on this tune, crank up the volume and enjoy the last truly great Rock N Roll band.
A song that defines the teenage you? And the memories it evokes?
The Jam - Saturday's Kids
Changed my life this one, leaving school with my only success being a CSE grade 2 in woodwork!! I was destined to be a "Saturday kid", this song gave me a kick up the back side to get off it and try and make something of my life.
An anthemic song? Why does it get your pulse racing?
The Beatles - Hey Jude - Remastered 2015
The Ultimate sing-a-long from the greatest band there ever was!!
Best song to end an all-nighter?
Edwin Starr - Twenty Five Miles
End of a great night with tired feet, this is a big tune to force you on the dance floor for one last time. Mr Edwin Starr who in my view is one of the most underrated artists, a true legend.
