This Gig will be a unique chance to see Shame perform their debut album in London, and play the legendary 100 Club for the first time.

'They’ve completely blown the competition out of the water, producing one of the most thrilling, intoxicating, ludicrously entertaining British guitar records in an age.’
9/10 - Clash Magazine

Shame have been together just over three years and in that time have become one of the most viscerally thrilling new bands in the UK. They will release their highly anticipated debut album 'Songs Of Praise’ on January 12th.

South London school friends Charlie Steen (vocals), Sean Coyle-Smith (guitar), Eddie Green (guitar), Charlie Forbes (drums) and Josh Finerty (bass) formed Shake in a practice space at the infamous Queen’s Head in Brixton. "You could do whatever you wanted there," recalls Steen "Nothing was off limits." The Queen’s Head was a lawless space where The Fat White Family rehearsed "We kind of just took refuge there," says Forbes. "The Fat Whites didn't really know we existed for a while until we started using their stuff as we didn't have any instruments."

After securing a label, Shame recorded 'Songs Of Praise' in just ten days, "We wanted our first album to be concise and to the point," says Steen.

Take neoclassical soundscapes and hammer them into a dark and angular portrait. Imagine a bitter artist, after a sleepless three-day bender, finally putting pen to paper.

Black Midi
The Selhurst band worth risking permanent hearing damage for. They are keeping a low profile online and are busy building a formidable live reputation.

Steve Lamacq
A champion of new music since his time at NME and XFM in the early 1990s Steve Lamacq has presented programmes on BBC Radio 1, 6 Music, Radio 2 and 5Live. Like John Peel before him, Steve Lamacq has been a consistent supporter of independent emerging British artists throughout his career, shining a spotlight on talent from all over the UK.
