Legendary British band, The Specials, have announced their first North American tour in years. Celebrated for their ability to combine the dissident voice of punk with ska and reggae dance beats, the tour will be the band’s first performances following the loss of founding member and drummer, John ‘Brad’ Bradbury. Gary Powell, drummer of the acclaimed indie rock band The Libertines, is confirmed to perform in Bradbury’s place as the band carries on to inspire fans both young and old.
The Specials presence on this side of the pond is a rare treat. While the band has performed at countless sold out shows worldwide, held coveted spots at major music festivals like Glastonbury, and even closed the Olympic Games in Hyde Park, The Specials current all-star line up will be hitting some American markets for the first time.
