Name, where are you from?
DJ Bustawidemove. From Leyton, London Town, UK.

Describe your style in three words?
Raggamuffin Sports Casual.

What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
Rage Against The Machine, ULU, 1993 - Rage's first UK show. The UK wasn't ready for that type of band and show yet.

If you could be on the line up with any two bands in history?
Operation Ivy - a defining band of my youth, still listen to them regularly now but never got to see them play.
The Skints - currently in my top 5 bands. Local band from my area absolutely smashing it. Their track 'Rise Up' namechecks the East London endz where I grew up.

Which subcultures have influenced you?
I was a skateboarder for many years, so have been hugely influenced by the skate scene in terms of fashion and culture. But the biggest influence has to be the underground rave and squat party scene - it encompassed so many different and rebellious subcultures, spawned its own fashion styles, eclectic music and attitude. Big up Headfuk and Exodus Sound systems!

If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
Grandad VanBurren-lake. My Mum's Dad, so that I could chat about life in the Caribbean back in the day. My Grandad was a guitarist and the whole family are Calypsonians and big fans of the Mighty Sparrow.

Of all the venues you’ve been to or played, which is your favourite?
The Hub stage at Glastonbury 2011; when they had the circular cityscape arena and 3D projection mapping; was an insane stage to play on. I played the second to last set of the whole festival after Neneh Cherry and it was the last stage running on site, so as you can imagine, the crowd was pretty wild and ready for the junglist business.

Bustawidemove is currently touring with The Specials and is a resident DJ at Raise It Up, Rinse It Out and plays in the live DnB band Step 13.

He is also part of Uncommon Records who run The Common, one of Glastonbury's late night areas as well as The Renegade Street Rave at Boomtown Fair.
