Name, where are you from?
Alex Nikolov. Born in Bulgaria, raised in Mallorca, based in Barcelona.

What do you do?
City Connector and Community Expert, Music PR and Artist Manager.

Describe your style in three words?
Colorful, Messy, Comfy.

What's the best gig you’ve ever been to?
Yves Tumor’s experimental show at the Primavera Sound Barcelona 2018.

If you could be on the line up with any two bands in history?
Lil Peep and Jeffree Star - the pink colour theme and the scene kid realness would kill it.

Which subcultures have influenced you?
I used to be an emo scene kid in my teens and that is when I realised the power of music in community building. Manga, Visual Kei aesthetics and Japanese Rock came after that and now I’m listening to techno, experimental electronic, trap and a lot in-between…

If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
Burial, just to find out who he actually is!

Of all the independent venues you’ve played, which is your favourite?
I don’t play, but my favourite venues are Amsterdam’s De School, Tbilisi’s Bassiani and Krakow’s Unsound Festival venues.

Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
Lil Peep, check his documentary - really felt in love with his character and everything he means to the birth of a youth movement.

04Playlist Notes

The first track you played on repeat?
'I'm The Best' by Nicki Minaj and the entire Pink Friday album haha.

A song that defines the teenage you?
'You’re So Last Summer' by Taking Back Sunday.

One record you would keep forever?
'Let Go' by Avril Lavigne. The first CD I bought lol.

A song lyric that has inspired you?
'Rainbow' by Slowthai.

A song you wished you had written?
Don’t really see myself writing lol.

Best song to turn up loud?
'Archangel' by Burial.

A song people wouldn’t expect you to like?
'Deserve You' by Justin Bieber.

The song that would get you straight on the dance floor?
'Immaterial' by SOPHIE.

Best song to end an all-nighter?
'SIREN' by Shygirl.

Any new music you are into at the moment?
