03Interview

Name, where are you from?
deathcrash: Patrick, Noah, Tiernan, Matthew - London.

Describe your style in three words?
Slint, spider land.

What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
Lisa O’Neill at EOTR. She spoke of her song 'Pothole in the Sky' - someone had written to her explaining how when her husband had been dying this song had helped them deal with it all. She asked if Lisa O’Neill would play the song at his funeral, which she did. Lisa said how much it meant to her that this had helped them in that way, and then played the song.

If you could be on the line up with any two bands in history?
Aerial M and Papa M - just listen to Aerial M’s Peel session.

Which Subcultures have influenced you?
Soundsystem culture, post-hardcore and folk songs.

If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
Richmond Fontaine, to talk about his song 'Easy Run’ and tell Joe what he said.

Of all the venues you’ve been to, which is your favourite?
Barbican - Noah and I saw GAS play there, supported by Huerco S. The projections were the size of the whole back wall.

Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
Cavernzz - makes the most beautiful music I’ve heard in years. He has a new album coming out this year.

London four-piece, deathcrash, have recently signed to untitled (recs) and have just released their single 'People thought my windows were stars'.
