Name, where are you from?
Lucia, from Glasgow.

Describe your style in three words?
Bowie Blondie Madonna.

What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
I saw Nick Cave on his most recent tour, I don’t think I took my eyes off him the whole time he performed. Although his new album is incredible, Stagger Lee was definitely my highlight.

If you could be on the line up with any two bands in history?
Hole, I listen to ‘Malibu’ practically every day… and also David Bowie, I love everything I listen to of Bowie but 'Modern Love' is definitely my favourite.

Which subcultures have influenced you?
I’ve always been into old Disco, the music and the fashion side of it. When I started music myself I was more influenced by old punk bands from the '70s and '80s, the likes of Debbie Harry, Joan Jett, and Richard Hell. It definitely influenced the way I play shows.

If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
Michael Jackson. I stole the CD (Off The Wall) off my mum when I was younger so I could dance to it in my room. I’ve still got it but I’m not sure she knows.

Of all the venues you’ve played, which is your favourite?
Definitely the Barrowlands, everyone from Glasgow’s favourite venue is the Barrowlands.

Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
I don’t think a lot of people know how immensely talented Dennis Wilson was from The Beach Boys. Although he was the drummer, he also made his own music and I recently discovered 'Pacific Ocean Blue' which is a beautiful record.

Lucia & The Best Boys (formerly LUCIA) recently released their third EP 'Eternity'. Listen, purchase or stream it at orcd.co/eternityep.

04Playlist Notes

The first track you played on repeat?
It was the Britney Spears version of 'I love Rock and Roll' if I’m going to be honest.

A song that defines the teenage you?
Probably every song off the 'Come Around Sundown' album By Kings Of Leon.

One record you would keep forever?
'We Are Family' by Sister Sledge, which used to be my Mum's. She is a huge disco diva and turned me into one as well.

A song lyric that has inspired you?
There’s too many to choose but I love the way that Lana Del Rey uses so much imagery in her lyrics, I can always visualize in my head what she is singing, it's almost cinematic.

A song you wished you had written?
'Hanging on the Telephone'. That’s my favourite Blondie song too.

Best song to turn up loud?
'Ms. Jackson' by OutKast.

A song people wouldn’t expect you to like?
'Woman' by Harry Styles. I was quite surprised when I listened to his latest album.

Best song to end an all-nighter on?
'My Forbidden Lover' by Chic. Always gets me dancing.

Any new bands you are listening to right now?
I’ve been listening to Childhood’s new album ‘Universal High’ a lot.
