Name, where are you from?
Silkarmour. Andrei, Enzo and Louis. London.

Describe your style in three words?
Structured. Electronic. Full.

What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
Probably black midi at Bussey Building in Peckham. We’ve seen them a bunch of times but this one was special. The sound was amazing and really did them justice.

If you could be on the line up with any two bands in history?
Bjork and Animal Collective. They’re the closest artists to us stylistically in our opinion. Bjork is a huge influence on us. Animal Collective paved the way for more interesting sonic mixtures.

Which Subcultures have influenced you?
Two major influences would be UK Dance music and Hip Hop because of the way that both pushed boundaries for electronic music. They helped make sampling an art form, bringing it legitimacy and respect. Sampling and piecing together bits of audio plays a big part in the production and songwriting process for us.

If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
Lou Reed. But from what we know, an hour with Lou Reed can be a very difficult experience, cause he was a d*ck. Maybe Kanye would be a better choice? We love d*cks.

Of all the venues you’ve been to, which is your favourite?
Windmill Brixton! Best sound in London, best Tim Perry in London. Couldn’t be anywhere else really. (Shout out Cafe Oto!)

Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
Stockhausen is definitely not credited enough for being one of the pioneers of experimental electronic music. Also a d*ck.

04Playlist Notes

The first track you played on repeat?
'Clint Eastwood' by Gorillaz. Radio classic, a good intro to Hip-Hop for us British kids. Fond memories of dancing in the back seat on long car journeys. The album was never ejected from Louis’ childhood car cassette player, a 2002 Fiat Multipla.

A song that defines the teenage you?
'40 Days' by Slowdive. Great track if you were bullied in secondary school.

One record you would keep forever?
Impossible to pick one collectively - so we picked two.
'The Velvet Underground & Nico' by The Velvet Underground. An incredible burst of experimentation, noise, emotions, and a testament to the art scene of New York in the '70s. A great mix of harshness and beauty, with some of the best lyrics of all time. Lou Reed and John Cale show off some of the most solid and consistent songwriting ever, with unique arrangements and percussion.
'In Rainbows' by Radiohead. God damn such an emosh album, it came out at the perfect time in our lives. It hits so deep and we discovered it early enough in our musical development for it to influence us right as we built our foundations as musicians.

A song lyric that has inspired you?
"Decent people don’t live like that, decent folk don’t live that good"

From 'Corpses in Regalia' by Protomartyr. Simple and yet politically apt.

A song you wished you had written?
'Sun In My Mouth' by Bjork. Just imagine writing a song this beautiful. A very underrated album, give it a chance.

Best song to turn up loud?
'Bound 2' by Kanye West. This song needs to be turned up so loud that all the freakin' haters in 2013 change their mind.

A song people wouldn’t expect you to like?
'You Suffer' by Napalm Death. Short and sweet just like Enzo.

The song to get you straight on the dance floor?
'GT Turbo' by Mella Dee. Bodacious boofing bass bouncing booty beauty.

Best song to end an all-nighter?
'Dry Hands' by C418. Minecraft till 5am.

Any new bands you are into at the moment?
Rosie Alena has a lovely voice and writes beautiful songs. Denh Izen's writing is full of raw emotion and very bold. Each of us has very specific tastes in music and these are our collective favourites.
