Name, where are you from?
We are The Lounge Society (Hani, Herbie, Cam & Archie) and we’re from Hebden Bridge/Todmorden in West Yorkshire.

Describe your style in three words?
Cheap and cheerful.

What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
Fat White Family at Green Man Festival always springs to mind. It was one of those moments when you look at each other, stood in a puddle of mud in the middle of a field, and think, yeah, this is what it’s about, they are the sh*t.

If you could be on the line up with any two bands in history?
The Velvet Underground, to witness where all great music began and Funkadelic to witness those grooves in reality. Or maybe The Fall as none of us ever got to see them live, which doesn’t seem right.

Which subcultures have influenced you?
The 1970s New York new wave (CBGB) scene and the afrobeat scene.

If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
Andy Warhol. One of the rare few who managed to change popular culture forever.

Of all the venues you’ve played, which is your favourite?
The Trades Club. The venue which (along with The Golden Lion) gave us what we needed, somewhere to play and grow. The greatest venue in the world.

Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
Lizzy Mercury Desloux.

The Lounge Society released their debut EP 'Silk For The Starving' in June 2021. Listen, purchase or stream it via ffm.to/tlssfts.

The Lounge Society will also be touring the UK throughout the rest of 2021. Details and tickets can be found at linktr.ee/TheLoungeSociety_.
