03Interview

The first track you played on repeat? And where did you play it?

Linkin Park - In The End

I'm not sure if this was the very first, but I have a clear memory of jumping around and yelling along to this with my best friend in year 5.

A song from your favourite album? And what does this track mean to you?

Mitski - Nobody

I can't choose a favourite album of all time, but this was my favourite album of 2018. Mitski is wonderful and I love the lyric 'I know no-one will save me I just need someone to kiss'.

A song from your most memorable gig?

New Order - Ceremony - Version 1; 2016 Remastered Version

In 2015 I went to see Peter Hook & The Light play every single Joy Division song at Chirst Church in Macclesfield, which was very special. I saw New Order for the first time the same year, Ceremony is one of my favourite songs in the world.

A song that always gets you up and dancing?

Billy Idol - Dancing With Myself

Quite self explanatory, I think.

A new song you're listening to? Why do you like this artist?

PRISTINE BABE - Moonlight

My favourite recent discovery is Pristine Babe - I saw them play at the Shacklewell Arms and they got everyone dancing to their perfect 80s pop, despite almost nobody knowing the songs

Best song to turn up loud? And why?

Protex - Don't Ring Me Up

I listen to a lot of power pop when I'm getting ready to go out, when I'm walking places, or when I need cheering up a bit

A song that defines the teenage you? And the memories it evokes?

My Chemical Romance - I'm Not Okay (I Promise)

I was, and probably still am, a massive emo.

An anthemic song? Why does it get your pulse racing?

Oasis - Live Forever - Remastered

My friends and I associate this song with a friend we lost. its massive and massively emotional, also I'm northern.

Best song to end an all-nighter?

Robbie Williams - Angels

Obviously.
