Name, where are you from?
Jae Seung Kim, South Korea who lives in Midtown Manhattan, New York City.

Describe your style in three words?
Comfy, Basic, Normcore

What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
It was Charlie Puth’s Concert that was held a couple of years ago. I still remember the moment that I heard ‘YOUTH’ which is still one of my favourites.

If you could be on the line up with any two bands in history?
Beatles - This song reminds me of my mom’s playlist. Since this was my mom’s all-time favourite, I came to love this song so naturally.
Muse - I heard this song when I went into a Junior High school. My friend recommended this to me one day. I listened to it, and then I liked this song so much, so I ended up singing the song in a band that I made with my friends.

Which subcultures have influenced you?
Westlife - Their singing atmosphere is very comfortable, and the clothes are also casual. I like this mood.

If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
Psy - He is a musician who is acknowledged not only in Korea but also abroad.

Of all the venues you’ve played, which is your favourite?
I am still underage in the US, so I had no chance to visit any venues yet, but I wish to go to a club in Brooklyn since my friend told me that she had a lot of fun there.

Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
Novo Amor - 'Weather'
This song has been played over and over again ever since I found it. I like the peaceful and calm vibe this song has.

04Playlist Notes

The first track you played on repeat?
Beatles - 'Let it be'
When I was a child, I listened to this song from my mom. I knew it naturally and listened to it all the time.

A song that defines the teenage you?
Fool’s Garden - 'Lemon Tree'
A foreign song that I heard next to the Beatles. When I was a teenager, I was able to find other songs.

One record you would keep forever?
Novo Amor - 'Carry You'
My first friend in New York recommended me this song. I can’t forget it.

A song lyric that has inspired you?
Jason Mraz - 'I Won’t Give Up'
I listen to this song when I’m tired. The lyrics contain a lot of power.
