What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
The XX at FUJI ROCK in 2017. There was a great connection with the audience. I am quite sure that people who were there would understand this. I could feel that the player was so excited as well. Even though it was my first time making a guest appearance at a festival, I could understand at once why the artists and the audience wanted to be there.

Which sub-cultures have influenced you?
Probably manga (comic books). I read all the work from Minoru Furuya. It was not like his series were popular at that time but I happened to know his work when I read the books that my middle school teacher had previously confiscated from his/her students.

Of all the venues you’ve played, which is your favourite?
It would definitely be WWW X in Shibuya. It feels like the sound waves are exploding. At that place, the sound can be so loud that makes it easier for the artists to do any of their performances. Also, I believe that the creation of atmosphere is awesome.

If you could be on the line up with anybody in history?
Jorja Smith. She is not a person from history, but I like her voice and face as well. It would be my pleasure if she could sing some hooks with me.

If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
American artist, XXXTentacion. I was interested in him the most and I wanted to look directly into his eyes. Now that I don’t have any ways to get to know what kind of person he was, so I want to build my own understanding of him.

Your greatest unsung hero in music?
I AM DDB. My friend who lives in London told me about them. I have been following them since then.

How did you select the tracks for this playlist?
The songs that I came to know in 1 or 2 months after creating of this playlist.

The first track you played on repeat?
Actually, it is The Beatles. A song I thought was cool was 'Come Together'.

A song that defines the teenage you?
'Temptation' by New Order. I didn’t play it on repeat but I could sympathize with the music video.

One record you would keep forever?
'Broken Knowz' by Jay Daniel. It is from Technicolour, which is a sublabel of Ninja Tune. It was my first and personal experience of the house style. It taught me that there is so much good music regardless of categories. It triggered the start of an event called 'OFFCENT'.

A lyricist that has inspired you?
Campanella. He is from Nagoya. I feel like he has “something”.

Best song to turn up loud?
'Hello' by Adele. Also, I have been singing 'London Bridge Is Broken Down', which is a British folk song, since I was a little child.

A song people wouldn’t expect you to like?
'Marilyn' by Mount Kimbie & Micachu.

Any new bands you are listening to now?
Now I am into a Russian band called Motorama. I’m into 'Kissing The Ground'.
